Lemon Quartz Pendant 925 Sterling Silver

Lemon Quartz is known for its beautiful yellow and green tones. Like e.g. Amethyst and Citrine, Lemon Quartz belongs to the quartz family and thus has a Mohs hardness of seven, which makes it very suitable in jewellery making due to its wearing properties.

Lemon Quartz is distinguished from Citrine (also from the Quartz family) by the bright lemon-yellow colour and green undertone, whereas citrine tends to be more orange in the tone. Lemon Quartz is a mild heat treated form of clear Quartz, which can either be performed by nature or in a workshop, but only a small part of clear quartz will get the lemon-yellow when heat-treated due to a usually high amount of aluminium in Quartz.
Most Quartz will thus turn black when exposed to the heat-treatment.
